Our First July 4th as a Family!

Well we went to the doctor on June 29th and found out that our little man is growing like a weed, but doing it perfectly! She said that he is growing very well and looks very healthy. He weights 23 pounds and is 30 inches long. I really think he only weights 22 pounds, but he ate while in the waiting room of the doctor's office. Oh well, it really doesn't matter, all that matters is that we have a very HAPPY little boy.

The doctor did tell us that he could start taking table foods and he absolutely LOVES them! He really doesn't want to eat that other stuff now, he just wants his steak and baked potato. (Well, not really, but he does want whatever is on your plate.) Corbin continues to be a joy. He really doesn't have a horrible day very often! (I'm probably going to kick myself for saying that, but the only time we have problems is when he doesn't want to lay down and take naps.) He is a wonderful baby!
As for the rest of the family, I just recently started taking my master's courses and am feeling a little bogged down. I think I am just a little overwhelmed, but I am sure that once I get in a routine things will settle down. I am definitely a routine kind of person and I love when things run smoothly. So I guess we will see. As for Brent, he has been trying to get hay cut and put up or sold, but with all the rain it has been a little difficult. Also, we have had some fun times with things breaking!
Since I haven't been on here for awhile I have quite a bit to post, but we have also set a date for our first family vacation. We are going to COLORADO!! I guess we will see how it goes. I had planned to just do something small, going out on the lake, camping, but Brent had other ideas. He has decided that we are going to drive out to Colorado and see some sights. So I have been busy getting a cabin and hotel accomodations set up for us for the week that we are out there. It has been FUN! We will be staying in a cabin, then a condo, and a typical hotel room. So hopefully all will go well! We will be visiting Pike's Peak, the Royal Gorge, Estes Park, Lake Dillon (for our little cousin/nephew), Breckenridge, and several other hot spots. We are going to leave when Corbin gets ready for bed and drive all night to get out there. We know we will have to make some stops, but since Corbin usually sleeps 11 hours at night, we thought we might be able to get a lot of the trip out of the way while he was asleep! I guess we will see!
Also, since today is July 4th, I took some new pictures of Corbin to celebrate. Since it is raining cats and dogs outside it doesn't look like we will be doing much. I am pretty sure my Mom and Dad, Corbin's Grammy and Pa are going to come up and have a small cookout with us, but besides that I guess it will just be a typical day this year. Maybe next year will be better!!!!

  2. He looks so cute! I went to Estes Park when I was in high school and we played in the snow. I think it was in the month of July too. Can't wait to read how the vacation goes. Have fun!
