First Christmas'

Loving Alesha helping him reach the goal! He just needs a little extra boost, doesn't have his Jordan's on!

Dillon was testing out Corbin's new car! He thinks one of those could be pretty cool!!

Practicing his form!

Peek a boo!

Trying to figure out how all this works!!

Telling everyone it is time to open presents!

The boys at the Sutherlin Christmas. I bought the boys matching sweaters last year on clearance and they looked soooo cute!

Well, it has been a while since I have posted, so sorry! It has been very busy around the Conner household. As most of you know Brent is an avid hunter and has a deer processing business. Therefore, this is an extremely busy time for him. He has been gone for about the last month and a half and we are just thrilled when he is able to make it home to see us! But, we understand and we get him the rest of the year so we have dealt with it. I am also working on my master's and have had to try to balance all of that along with family. It is extremely difficult to do especially when I have such a joy for a son.

As for Corbin he is walking (everywhere) and talking (all the time)! He is a very good runner at that. We have survived a few colds that were due to new teeth and even had to survive a trip to the emergency room as well. That was very scary, but we got it all taken care of. Definitely don't want to do that again. Corbin now has his top two molars in and one of his bottome ones in. I am thinking it will probably spring up rather soon.

Corbin now has a new love in his life as well, ELMO! Everything is Elmo this year and I am pretty sure I have been able to memorize a few of the DVD's. Oh well, he loves it and I love to see his face when it comes on. We are very anxious for him to open his gifts this year so we can see him when he sees his Elmo Live!! He has had the opportunity to open his first few gifts already this year and he is a real trooper. He can really tear into that paper and understands that tissue paper comes out of bags really easily. We had the Sutherlin Christmas at the beginning of the month and just had the Hughes Christmas tonight. Corbin had a great time and received some new goodies. Jama (Vera) got him a cozy coupe car and a basketball goal and he loves both.

Pumpkin Patch Time!

We went to the pumpkin patch for the first time today! It was so much fun, but it was very cold. We took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch where Corbin and his daddy were able to pick out the best pumpkin. It took them awhile to agree on the perfect one, but they eventually were able to get it taken care of! We had a really great time, but we could have ordered a little warmer today. We were able to watch part of a puppet show, eat some tasty food, take our hay ride, and pick up a pumpkin. There was also a corn maze, but we didn't do that this year for fear of losing Corbin along the way. Uncle Darren, Auntie Megan, Dillon, and Pa (my dad) went along with us as well. Grammy had to work, so she missed out on all of the fun. So all in all it was a great family day!

Fun Day at the Park and Boat

We had a wonderful family day today! It was so nice! We spent all day down at the houseboat and park doing all kinds of family things! We went and let Corbin play on the beach, walked through the nature trail, fished, played on the houseboat and in the park. It was GREAT! Corbin was mighty tuckered out when we came home!

Corbin also, just had his 1 year doctor's appointment on Thursday and again was told he was doing great. He is a very healthy boy who is growing like a weed. He did have to get 4 different shots, and a finger poke though, so it was very hard for me! I felt awful seeing him cry, but he took it like a champ. As soon as he was picked up he quit crying and when they poked his finger he just stared at the nurse, like why are you doing this! We did find out that he is 31 1/4 inches long (86th percentile) and 23 pounds 11 ounces (64th percentile), so he is growing perfectly. He also showed off his walking and talking skills which the doctor was very proud to see. She also informed us that he was working on his first year molars (which we were already pretty aware of) were coming in.

As we continue through this second year, we can only say that we have the best little boy there is. Corbin is definitely our little pride and joy and we don't know what we would do without him. He definitely brings us a lot of joy. He is a wonderful little boy with a HUGE personality! We love him dearly and love spending all of our time devoted to him!

Lake Pictures

Corbin really tried to figure out how to get the boat going faster, but he just wasn't able to find the right button!
The lifejacket just about the best of him! It throws him way off balance and really irritates him.

He really likes playing with daddy's hat!

Corbin really enjoys being on the houseboat, and we often take a little ride on Brent's fishing boat. He really likes it for awhile, but he does get a little fussy after awhile. There just isn't enough space for him him to walk around. Plus I am a little over protective because I don't want to see him go overboard!

1st Birthday Party

He was tuckered out after the long day! He did so well though!
He really likes spending time playing with Uncle Mark!

This picture was after we cleaned him up from the cake. He went straight to the bath tub!

As you can see he really got into his cake!

Shove it all in there!

He thought Pa might want a bite!

My kind of kid, really liked the icing! I made his little cake because I couldn't find anyone that would do it for me! It didn't turn out half bad!

He loved his deer rug that Mommy and Daddy got him!

He really liked getting all of his tractors too!

This is his future girlfriend! She is only 2 weeks older!

John Deere Party!

Notice the John Deere outfit!

All the kids loved the Bounce House, including Corbin!

Corbin had a wonderful 1st birthday party! We had about 60 people here and it was a blast. We had a beautiful day with no rain and it really wasn't that hot either. He did get way too many presents though and now our house reminds me a lot of the toys r us aisles! Oh well, he is having a blast playing with all of his new things!

He is now taking 5 or 6 steps at a time when he wants to and really enjoys being on the houseboat. The last few times we have went down there he has taken naps for about 2 and a half hours! I am amazed! I believe he really likes the rocking of the boat!

First Family Vacation

Well, it has been a little crazy since we have gotten back from vacation. I have been busy trying to catch up on my master's classes and getting my classroom ready for the new school year. It is crazy that the summer is now over and I have to go back to work!! You would think that being off for so long I would be ready to go back, but I have had a wonderful time being a stay at home mom with my baby boy.

A lot has happened since we have came home. Corbin has taken his first 2 steps!! He is also walking behind his toys like crazy. He has a few toys that has wheels and he is walking everywhere. His first birthday is coming up so we are busy trying to make the preparations for that. And most of all trying to figure out what you get a little boy for his first birthday! If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share, because we are clueless!!

Our vacation was wonderful! Corbin was an absolute angel. I don't think he shed a tear the entire time, unless it was bedtime and he didn't want to go to bed. We were both so impressed that he rode in the car for 17 hours, and did just fine. We left at 7:00 p.m. on Monday and I drove all night (only changing drivers for about 4 hours) and we got to Colorado Tuesday afternoon. (If anyone tries to drive this, Kansas is extremely BORING!) While out there we had a full itenerary that we completed and had a great time. Everything we did was amazing and it all worked out so well. We started out shopping at the outlet mall in Loveland, Colorado and then went on to Estes Park where we stayed in a cabin for 2 nights. We drove on into Rocky Mountain National Park, where we some some elk. The cabin that we stayed in was amazing and even had a hot tub for us all to enjoy! When we left Estes Park we drove along Trail Ridge Road (for those of you that don't know what this is, it is the scenic route through Rocky Mountain National Park that goes up and over the mountain). We had some amazing views to look at! From there we went to Grand Lake to shop around and then on to the Silverthorne outlet mall. We stayed at Breckenridge where we shopped a little in the town and ate dinner. We had a condo at Breckenridge that was very nice as well. After leaving Breckenridge we stopped at yet another outlet mall in Castle Rock, and then we headed toward Manitou Springs which is where Pike's Peak is located. We rode to the top of Pike's Peak!!! I thought it was really neat, Brent did too, but he didn't really like the way he felt while at the top. He was ready to get back on the train. After riding the railway we then headed to the Royal Gorge which is in Canon City. We went to the actual bridge and park as well as rode the train that goes through the gorge. This was a lot of fun and had some amazing sights. As you can see we were very busy, but it was all worth it. We were there and home in 8 days and everything went very well. It only rained one time and we didn't have to miss any of the sights that we had planned to see! We were all so excited, but ready to be home!
Had to put a picture of an elk that we saw. We also saw mule deer, bighorn sheep, marmit and many others.
Had to share this picture, it is one of my favorites! His blue eyes really show up!

This is us at Bear Lake. We couldn't find any bears though, although we didn't look real hard!

Grammy and Corbin stop to pose for a picture in Estes Park.

Corbin posing on the bear seat!

He didn't even know he had a coonskin hat on, he was sleeping!

Here we are on the train that goes along the Arkansas River in the Royal Gorge.
Here is a picture of the Bighorn Sheep!

Isn't this a HUGE tree!!

Here we are all walking across the Royal Gorge Bridge. It is the highest suspension bridge in the World!

Pa and Corbin spent a lot of quality time together. They are on the Pike's Peak Cog Railway headed to the top! It got rather chilly on the way up and we had to put sweatshirts on!

Well, we made it to the top and are now headed back down off of Pike's Peak!

Corbin really enjoyed playing Peek-A-Boo! All you had to do was give him a blanket and he was entertained almost the entire time he was awake! It was hilarious!

This was Corbin at the beginning or our trip. I dressed him in his pajamas so he would be comfortable and he did great! He stayed awake for awhile and then it was BEDTIME!! He did wake up occasionally when we would stop, but he would go back to sleep just like he was in bed!
